Greg Place joins Hotel Solutions Partnership as the UK EMEA Team’s Pre-opening and Turn-key Management consultant. Following 25 years’ experience at a senior level in both operational leadership and development within the hotel and leisure sector, Greg set up his own practice, Hotel Creations with Jon Barker in 2012. He is an expert at planning and delivering the numerous and intricate steps leading up to a successful hotel opening.
Greg is a specialist in creating and opening hotels, having multi-site operational experience within major international brands. He has the experience of the pre-opening and detailed planning of extensive hotel developments from both an operational, logistical standpoint and a customer experience angle. He has successfully brought together high performing individuals and teams, with his good knowledge of resource management, budgets, people and process co-ordination. Greg also has the unique ability to create and communicate the visionary aspects of the development and bring them to life in every day experiences.
Greg was the Opening General Manager for 300-bedroom Hilton London Heathrow T5, the first core brand franchised Hilton in the UK as well as the Opening General Manager for Heathrow Marriott Hotel. He was also on the board of Whitbread Hotels, operating 12 hotels across London.
Among his other key roles have been Food and Beverage concepy implementation, relationship management between the hotel and its owners, overseeing a one-year pre-opening with responsibility for operational aspects of the design brief, working with architects and interior designers.
Greg was educated at the Aspen Institute, Washington, USA and has a degree-equivalennt qualification from the HCIMA (now Institute of Hospitality).
