Larry Bowman

Larry Bowman is a specialist in the ‘people dimensions’ of the international hospitality business, helping clients to achieve their strategic goals by making effective use of their people as a source of competitive advantage.
He leads and participates in assignments that focus on enhancing management and organisation effectiveness particularly individual and team performance improvement, leadership development, HR strategy and HR processes and training and education. Having lived and worked in eight countries and carried out assignments worldwide, he brings in-depth knowledge of the cross cultural dimensions to doing business internationally.
Recent assignments he has conducted have required him to:
- Carry out a people and organisation review of a golf and leisure resort in Spain to improve short/medium term earnings performance and identify strategic options.
- Mentor the senior management team of a charitable conference and retreat centre in London.
- Conduct a strategic review, organisational structuring and development to enable the hotel division of a quoted South Korean company to develop internationally. Research, write and edit Standard Operating Procedures for the same client.
- Carry out a labour market research and skills needs analysis, to identify the main skills requirements and inform the development of a set of priority areas for new curricula and vocational training in Solomon Islands.
- Research and draft new hospitality curricula and learning materials for students with disabilities in Croatia.
- Conduct cross cultural workshops for expatriates taking up new overseas appointments.
Larry is an MBA tutor at the IMI University Centre, Lucerne and HR Advisor to the Board of Human Capital Search sàrl, Geneva.
Prior to his current role, he held executive positions with the Glion Group in Switzerland as Group HR Director and ITT Sheraton, Europe, Africa, Middle East division as VP/Human Resources. In addition he has conducted long term consultancy assignments in Viet Nam, the Caribbean and India.
Larry, who speaks French, has an MBA from Henley Business School and a BSc. Hons from the University of Surrey. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
